Erica L. Shnayder, Esq.Of Counsel
Erica Shnayder is an experienced employment law attorney and is of counsel to the firm. Ms. Shnayder represents clients throughout New York and New Jersey in a wide-range of employment law matters, including sexual harassment, retaliation, and discrimination based on gender, disability, race, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, pregnancy, and other protected characteristics. Ms. Shnayder is also well versed in Family & Medical Leave Act (FMLA) cases as well as New Jersey’s Conscientious Employee Protection Act (NJ CEPA). Ms. Shnayder also serves as lead counsel for numerous wage and hour cases and whistleblower claims.
Ms. Shnayder is a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum,*** obtaining significant awards and settlements for her clients. Membership is limited to attorneys who have won multi-million-dollar verdicts, awards, or settlements. Less than 1% of U.S. lawyers are members. Notably, Ms. Shnayder obtained a $4.025 million verdict for a disability discrimination claim in New York State Supreme Court which was the highest New York employment law verdict of 2014. For four consecutive years, Ms. Shnayder has been named a “Rising Star” and “Top Woman Attorney” by New York Super Lawyers.* Ms. Shnayder was also recognized as a “Top 40 Lawyer Under 40” by the American Society of Legal Advocates.** Ms. Shnayder has litigated numerous high-profile cases which have been featured in various news outlets included The New York Times, The New York Post, The Daily News, and Bloomberg Law.
Ms. Shnayder obtained her Juris Doctorate from American University, Washington College of Law. She is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey, as well as before the Southern District of New York, the Eastern District of New York, the Northern District of New York and the District of New Jersey. Ms. Shnayder represents clients across all socio-economic backgrounds and is fluent in Russian.
Ms. Shnayder’s experience in litigation and trials also includes arbitrations through various forums such as the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). She is also experienced in Electronic Discovery (e-Discovery) procedures and protocols, which are becoming more and more important in litigating a case with the ever increasing sophistication of work and personal electronic devices, social media outlets, and general electronic correspondence.
